kak·is·toc·ra·cy

A kakistocracy is a government by the least qualified or most unprincipled citizens and that is what our country elected. We've no one to blame but ourselves.

I have not posted in a couple days because I'm simply overwhelmed by the stupidity of the times we are living in. Elitists in Copenhagen discussing global warming in the snow, United States Senators dismissing their oath of office over a 2,000 page piece of legislation that will turn our health care into a disaster, and our President threatening members of his own party. Everything seems to be in turmoil, yet the people who were supposed to bring us hope and change have brought us anything but. It feels like America is in descent, on the verge of free fall and if amateur hour at 1600 Pennsylvania last any longer who knows where the bottom will be.

But Obama cannot be blamed solely. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are completely out of control. They stand in front of cameras claiming to represent the American people, but I have no idea who they are representing. Congress acts like they are in a haze as if they were cut off from the rest of the world. The legislation that has passed through there has been a disgrace. Our Congress is authorizing the spending of hundreds of billions of dollars we don't have to turn our nation into a centrally controlled, socialist styled Frankenstein. Ultimately, this will not work. Our government has taken leave of its senses. I think it is time for American people to really pay attention to elections -- not just Presidential ones, all of them. At the local, state, and Federal level we as a people have to begin the process of restoring sanity. Government is not a thing or a beast. It is a collection of people that we vote for and send to represent us and make laws for us. I believe it is time to send some of those folks home. I leave you with this:

  1. Great note, Curmudgeon. It's almost as though we have a bunch of junkies in Congress, and true to form, a junkie will do anything at all cost and peril just to get the next fix.

The heroin is all gone, and now they're emulate heroin in another forms, from other inferior ingredients.
