The Obama-manina hangover comes due

In 2008, the Commonwealth of Virginia voted for a Democratic Presidential candidate for the first time since 1968. Caught up in the wave Obama-mania, Virginians definitely "drank the kool-aid" and clearly, it was spiked. One year after a night Obama-mania binge drinking, Virginians woke up to the splitting headache of an Obama hangover and they've had enough. Virginia elected a straight Republican ticket for the office of Governor, Lt Governor, and Attorney General. Perhaps Virginians are the first in a long line of Americans tired of ridiculous Democratic campaign promises that resemble fairy tales instead of policy; wealth redistribution schemes that make Hugo Chavez blush; and the health reform debacle that represents the largest intrusion into the private lives of Americans since the passage of the "Raw Deal" and "The not-so Great Society." Even the mighty Washington Post, which was little more than Creigh Deeds press shop, had a hard time convincing Virginians to ignore the splitting headache---keep drinking the kool-aid Virginia! Piss off, Washington Post -- Drink your own kool-aid made from the sewer you call the Potomac. I don't want my State to look like Washington, DC. The ultimate in failed federal works programs and failed liberal social policies. Hopefully the people of New Jersey will also follow Virgina and reach for the GOP Advil to kill that throbbing pain. If 2008 reminded us of anything, it should have reminded us of our first hangover lesson: at some point we all have to pay the piper.
