Dear people from small states, you don't matter

The Gangs of D.C.

In the Senate, Small States Wield Outsize Power. Is This What the Founders Had in Mind?

If you need any further evidence of arrogance of the American left, you need look no further than this article by Alec MacGillis of the Washington Post. This article is right up there with Obama's shut up and get out of the way campaign speech for Creigh Deeds, Democratic candidate for Governor in Virginia. East coast liberals are angry that people with different values might not want to take the nation down the road to Old Europe socialism.

And yes, this is what the founders had in mind. I refer you to Federalist 62.

"In this spirit it may be remarked, that the equal vote allowed to each State is at once a constitutional recognition of the portion of sovereignty remaining in the individual States, and an instrument for preserving that residuary sovereignty. So far the equality ought to be no less acceptable to the large than to the small States; since they are not less solicitous to guard, by every possible expedient, against an improper consolidation of the States into one simple republic."
