Wow, have we finally comes to a point where government is all things to all people? Is the free market system dying or is it dead yet? Economics is driven by risk and incentive. Government cannot insulate the consumer from risk. By artificially keeping people in their homes, their cars, theirs jobs, etc you create an artificial state of inertia that builds glass ceilings and maintains an economic status quo. People who saved and lived within their means are denied the opportunity of buying a home or car etc because the government is artificially keeping a person in something they cannot afford. In essence you are paying your taxes twice. Once to the government and once to person who is being kept afloat.
